HOW DOES ULTRUM® DURATION WORK?

Repellent
Permethrin (having a repellent and residual effect), provides an advantage over non-repelling actives, especially in treating animals with Flea Allergy Dermatitis. Permethrin is extremely safe to use and will not adversely affect cats who happen to wander over the areas of the home that have been sprayed with Ultrum® Duration.

Instant Kill
Es-bioallethrin is an instant knock-down pyrethroid, killing fleas instantaneously.

Birth Control
Pyriproxifen is a long-acting IGR (Insect Growth Regulator). Fleas exposed to pyriproxifen produce sterile eggs, and pupae are weakened so that they die after they emerge from the cocoon (that’s why it’s called birth control for fleas).  When a flea bites your Ultrum- treated dog it also swallows some pyriproxifen, which it then excretes.  Because the excrement is a source of food for larvae they ingest the pyriproxifen and die. Pyriproxifen also plays a role in breaking the life cycle of the tick.

Treat bedding, kennels and all areas where pet spends most time. Spray on carpets and rugs and especially under furniture. It doesn't stain fabrics or damage furniture, but a test spray on a non-visible area is always a good idea.
